LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville prides itself on being a compassionate city, and the time is coming for residents to roll up their sleeves.
The annual Give A Day week of service is scheduled from April 18-26.
Mayor Greg Fischer said Tuesday that his goal for that week is to coordinate 165,000 acts of kindness through volunteers, donations and more.
"Our Give A Day week of service really provides people of all ages and all ZIP codes an opportunity to come together and express our appreciation for each other, help give each other a hand up and of course be happy at the same time," he said.
Fischer said he hopes every Louisvillian will get involved.
And some new things have been added to the week this year, including a concert at Metro Hall.
