LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A big donation for the University of Louisville means big business and another thumbprint on campus for Papa John.

John Schnatter, the founder of the pizza chain, announced Tuesday he will donate funds to create the John H. Schnatter Center for Free Enterprise, an academic and research center within the UofL College of Business.

Schnatter will donate 80 percent of the $6.3 million gift. The remaining $1.6 million will come from the foundation named after business mogul Charles Koch.

Schnatter said, “If we could have one or two kids do a Papa John's out of the $6 million, it will be money well spent.”

The funding for the new center will bring in new professors, classes and a speaker series along with research programs and award fellowships.
