174 marijuana plants found in Shively home

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man is facing several drug charges after police say they uncovered a marijuana growing operation in his home.

Temetrius Kelly was taken into custody Thursday after Shively police found 174 marijuana plants, along with grow lights and other items used in the cultivation of marijuana, in the basement of his home in the 2600 block of Ralph Avenue.

Police said they also found 136 loritabs and several xanax pills.

Kelly is charged with cultivating marijuana, trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Officers started investigating him after receiving a tip in July 2014.
