GCCS celebrates opening of College & Career Readiness Centers

CLARK COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - Preparing students for college and careers took a big step forward Thursday as Greater Clark County Schools opened two of the districts College and Career readiness centers.

The centers are located in Jeffersonville and Charlestown High Schools and are staffed by certified teachers.

The teachers serve as coordinators to help juniors and seniors find internships with area organizations. Students can also explore potential career opportunities and select their career pathway.

“It's important that we develop a great workforce, and that starts with us,” said GCCS Superintendent Dr. Andrew Melin, “we are really working hard developing what we call work ethic skills, jobs of tomorrow.”

A third center is located in New Washington High School.
