LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A band with a sound that is synonymous with the Bluegrass State will put on May's feature performance in the Louisville Mayor's Gallery in Metro Hall.

Misty Mountain String Band will play a free show on Thursday, May 7 as part of the Mayor's Music & Art Series. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and music will begin just after noon. The public is admitted on a first come, first serve basis.

The string quartet draws influence from old-time traditional bluegrass, playing original music and covers. As their website describes, their sound is "unique string band music written for today but informed by tradition."

Misty Mountain String Band has two albums out so far and available for purchase, including their most recent - Brownsboro - which you can hear a snippet of in the video above.
