LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman is charged with first degree assault after she allegedly stabbed her fiancé with a steak knife.
According to a police report, Cheryl Brown, 49, stabbed her fiancé during an argument in the bathroom of their home on South 5th Street on May 16.
After being stabbed, the victim fled and flagged down a stranger who assisted the victim by driving him to the hospital.
LMPD officers located Brown walking down the street near her home after the incident and took her into custody.
The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Police said he suffered a possible collapsed lung and an inflamed chest.
