LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A minister has a new plan to try to curb crime in West Louisville.
Minister Jerald Muhammad says his plan will get more young people into the work force and out of trouble, but he needs support from other community groups.
According to Muhammad, so much of our crime stems from drug addiction and drug dealing. That, said Muhammad, leaves many too addicted to pass drug screens or their felony records prevent them from getting jobs.
"We're trying to provide a way to help those who wanna help themselves," said Muhammad. "We know we aren't gonna save the city and we aren't gonna get everybody, but if we can save one person that wants to change we wanna help that one person."
Muhammad want to recruit church congregations and other groups. For more information, click here.
