CONFERENCE USA ANNOUNCES LEAGUE-HIGH NINE TV SELECTIONS FOR HILLTOPPER FOOTBALL
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –
Conference USA announced today that a league-high nine WKU football games will be broadcast nationally in the 2015 season across the CBS and Fox national networks.
“Playing in front of a national audience is something you want as a player and for your program,” said head coach Jeff Brohm. “Over the years, our players have become accustomed to playing games on national television so it's a great tool to use in all areas of the program. Our fans who can't make the games are able to follow the team home and away, so it's exciting to have this many games on national television.”
With the nine announced television games, only non-conference games at Vanderbilt, Indiana and LSU have yet to be announced a TV selection.
WKU will open their home schedule in primetime in front of a national TV audience against LA Tech on Fox Sports 1 (FS1) with a 7 p.m. kickoff, Thursday, Sept. 10. It is the first of two games scheduled for FS1 in 2015 which will also carry the season finale against Marshall on Nov. 27 at 11 a.m.
The Hilltoppers have two games on CBS Sports Network (CBS SN), including the second home game of the season, a 2:30 p.m. game against Miami (OH) on Sept. 26. CBS SN will also carry the game at North Texas on Oct. 15 with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
Fox College Sports (FCS) will feature the Hilltoppers at Rice on Oct. 3, and that game is slated for a 1:30 p.m. kick. Four more games will also appear on the Fox family, at home vs. Middle Tennessee and homecoming vs. Florida Atlantic and roadtrips to Old Dominion and FIU. Those four games have not be slotted for a network but will be announced 12 days prior to kickoff.
