NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - Four months after a man was found dead in a burning home, a New Albany man has been charged with murder.

Noah W. Nevil, 40, is accused of killing Earl L. Moore, 58. Moore died of a combination of blunt force trauma and severe burns on February 7.

Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson said that Moore suffered life-threatening injuries before the fire was set, and said Nevil might have started the blaze to cover up the crime.

Henderson said that the two men knew each other and Moore apparently allowed Nevil to come inside. Pills and other items were taken from Moore's home.

Nevil is already at the Floyd County jail on an unrelated charge. He now faces charges of murder and arson causing serious bodily injury.
