LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man's unusual dream came true at Louisville Slugger Field during Saturday night's Louisville City FC soccer game.

Dave Brown's son said his dad has been a long time sports fan and has always wanted his voice to be heard at a local game, but in a different way.

"He's always seen the guy walking up and down with peanuts or beer," said Mike Brown. "He has always said he would love to do that."

But Mike said his dad has worked hard his whole life, and it was hard for him to make time for it. "He retired from Toyota after 20-something years."

The time came for Mike's dad to get the most out of his life.

"He out of nowhere was diagnosed with cancer eight years ago," said Mike Brown. "He was given two years to live."

Which made this late Father's Day celebration even more special. It became a celebration of life. Dave's wish was granted tonight after his sons collaborated with Centerplate, the company who oversees vendors at the biggest sporting event

locations in town, including Louisville Slugger Field.

Beer after beer, chant after chant, Dave learned what it was like to be a beer vendor.

"I'm having fun," said Dave Brown. "It is turning more into work."

But, even throughout his adventure, Dave still didn't realize this was planned by his sons.

"Are you kidding me?" laughed Dave. "Those dogs, that is so funny!"

Dave did not make any money tonight, he was only in it for the good time. He said he learned a lot, from the beer lingo to how to properly pour the beer.
