UofL's James Quick named to Hornung Award watch list

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville wideout James Quick has been named to college football's preseason Paul Hornung Award watch list.

The former Trinity High School star who was named Kentucky's Mr. Football in 2012 joins 43 other college football players on the list for the annual award given to the sport's most versatile player.

Quick was third on the team in receptions last year, with 36. He also totaled 566 yards receiving, and scored three touchdowns, including two in a 34-3 win at Florida International.

The Hornung Award, named after Louisville native and college and pro football Hall of Famer Paul Hornung, is given out each year by the Louisville Sports Commission. A banquet is being planned at the Galt House sometime in February.
