LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two women are charged with fourth degree assault after one of the them struck two children with a belt at the instruction of the other.
According to their warrants, Sharra Blakemore, 31, admitted to police that she drove her children, ages 10 and 12, to a friend's house and told her to hit the children with a belt.
Jacqueline Lewis, 51, admitted to officers that complied with Blakemore's request to strike the children 10 times each. The 12-year-old child has cerebral palsy.
Police said a teacher at the victims' day camp noticed their injuries and contacted Child Protective Services. The agency in turn called the Louisville Metro Police Department.
One of the warrants states both children suffered multiple bruises from their hips to their knees.
The incidept happened on June 18, 2015.
