Victim dies of gunshot wound to leg; police searching for gunman

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are investigating a homicide in west Louisville.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said First Division officers responded to a shooting at 11:38 p.m. on Sunday in the 2500 block of Duncan Street.

The victim, identified as Lamon Baker, 38, of Louisville, was located inside the location with a gunshot wound to the leg. Baker was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he died during surgery at 1:55 a.m., Mitchell said.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation into Baker's death. So far, police have no suspects in the case.
