LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - With the recent and storied success of American Pharoah the Kentucky Derby Museum is in full celebration mode.

A banner in honor of the 3-year-old's Triple Crown win was hung Tuesday alongside past Triple Crown winners.

The banner signifies the end of the 37 year Triple Crown drought.

Officials at the Kentucky Derby Museum are optimistic about future banners.

Kentucky Derby Museum President Lynn Ashton said, "The interesting thing, from a historical perspective, when you look at the Triple Crown winners, they've been grouped in decades. So who knows what this means for the decade that we're in right now?”

The museum is also showing an updated version of “The Greatest Race," an 18 minute film that takes viewers through Derby Day, the life of a thoroughbred and highlights some of the most popular races.
