Former Teamsters president pleads guilty to embezzlement

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A former Teamsters president pleaded guilty Monday to multiple charges of embezzlement.

Former Teamsters Local 783 President Jerry Thomas Vincent Jr., 54, of Louisville, Kentucky, pleaded guilty to 14 counts of embezzling labor union funds and criminal record keeping violations in U.S. District Court.

According to an indictment, Vincent embezzled approximately $17,272,84 in union funds from Teamsters Local 783 from Oct. 5, 2009 to Aug. 17, 2011 and 13 union record violations from Oct. 5, 2009 to June 17, 2011.

Vincent is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 10, 2015 by Senior Judge Thomas B. Russell.
