Louisville, KY (WAVE) - In front of a record crowd of 9.434 fans, Louisville City FC beat Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer 3-1 on Tuesday night at Louisville Slugger Field.
Louisville got on the board first on a Matt Fondy strike in the 34th minute and lead 1-0 at halftime.
A Juan Guzman goal increased the lead to 2-0, and Charlie Adams provided some insurance late.
The crowd and the performance impressed Orlando head coach Adrian Heath. "You know Louisville, could it be MLS? Probably, yeah, I think I could be," he said, adding, "Obviously, they probably need to get their own stadium and sort one or two things out but I don't see any reason why they can't. You know, it's a big city, they've got terrific fans."
Louisville City FC is back home on Saturday night. They return to USL play, hosting the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
