Nicholas Police Officer Burke Rhoads was killed in a motor vehicle crash while en route to training in Richmond back in March.
The accident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on U.S. 27 near KY-1845 and the Jessamine-Garrard County line.
Another driver reportedly pulled out onto U.S. 27 from Rodgers Road and clipped Rhoads' vehicle.
Rhoads' cruiser then spun into oncoming traffic and was struck by a another vehicle.
Rhoads is survived by a wife and three children. He was an eight-year veteran of the department.
