OLDHAM COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Oldham County schools will have a new superintendent by 2016.
Superintendent Will Wells released a statement Tuesday informing the Oldham County School Board he would voluntarily resign Dec. 31, 2015.
Wells was suspended without pay on June 24 after an investigation by the OCSB revealed poor personnel management and low employee morale.
Wells will be paid his salary through the month of September, according to Oldham County Board of Education attorney Anne Coorssen.
Coorssen stated, "The district will pay him a sum of $60,000 and both parties will be released from any further obligations under the current employment agreement."
In his statement Wells denied any wrongdoing and said he was resigning to pursue other opportunities.
