LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro police have updated the criminal homicide count for 2015 after reclassifying several deaths in the city.
The updated number includes three people killed in a fire ruled as arson in Old Louisville in July. There has been no arrest in that case and it is being handled by Metro arson detectives.
The homicide division added the case of Michael Davis who died Sept. 14 in the 800 block of Muhammad Ali. That case also remains open. Police have not released the cause of death.
The deaths increase the 2015 criminal homicide total to 56. The next highest total at this point in the year was 48 in 2009.
