VERSAILLES, KY (WAVE) - A Kentucky charity is asking for help from the community after it loses everything en route to Haiti.
Waves of Mercy, a mission group based in Versailles, is asking for donations and money after the ship carrying its supplies to Haiti sank in Hurricane Joaquin.
The ship Minouche was 50 miles out from Haiti when it went under.
All 12 crew members survived but Waves of Mercy says all of their supplies were lost including 400 bars of soap, 600 pounds of peanut butter, 800 pairs of shoes and 38 barrels of clothes.
Interested donors can visit the Waves of Mercy website or contact Lori Conley at (614) 506-3604.
Checks can be sent to Waves of Mercy at P.O. Box 516, Versailles, KY 40383.
