NICHOLASVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Hundreds gathering today in Nicholasville on Friday to honor a paramedic who was killed while on a call.
John Mackey, who worked for the Jessamine County EMS, was taken off life-support Monday.

Mackey and his partner were on a call to the Jessamine County Detention Center when their ambulance mirror swiped mirrors with a truck. As Mackey stepped out to inspect the damage he was hit by a car.
Mackey is an organ donor. His friends said he was passionate about saving lives and donating his organs will allow him to continue his passion.
