KY firefighter dies at home after fighting fire

IRVINE, KY (WAVE) - A Kentucky firefighter died Saturday morning just hours after fighting a structure fire in Estill County on Friday, Supporting Heroes staff released.

Zachary Clevenger was found unresponsive in his home by his wife around 7 a.m. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Supporting Heroes says Clevenger had returned home from fighting the fire just before midnight. 

Clevenger was 30 years old and is survived by his wife, Christina, and his parents.

He was a volunteer with Estill County Fire and a career firefighter with Montgomery County (KY) Fire and EMS.
