LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The University of Louisville says officials will require companies contracting with the university to pay full-time staff an hourly minimum wage of at least $10.10.
Companies that currently do business with U of L will have to meet the new guidelines when their agreements are renewed.
The university has contracts with companies in areas including food service, residence hall cleaning and security services, and printing and copying services.
The policy matches one the state executive branch put into place this summer for state government workers and employees of companies doing business with the state. Universities were excluded from the policy.
U of L pays full-time staff a minimum wage of $10.50 per hour, planned to increase to $11 by 2017.
