LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Based on the strength of Saturday's 98-84 win over nationally ranked Lincoln Memorial, the Bellarmine Knights have risen to No. 7 and No. 11 in the National Media and NABC Division II polls respectively. The Knights, now 9-2 on the season, climbed six spots in each poll.
West Liberty,one of just three Division II teams that are still undefeated, regained the top spot in both polls.
The Midwest Region and the Great Lakes Valley Conference are better represented this week with Lake Superior State, Ashland, Saginaw Valley State, Ferris State and Indianapolis earning a ranking in one or both polls.
Bellarmine returns to action on Thursday when the Knights travel to Liberty, Mo., to face the William Jewell Cardinals.
The National Media poll, now in its second year, is sponsored by D2SIDA, a branch of the College Sports Information Directors of America consisting of members from NCAA Divsion II schools. NABC stands for the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
