Duvall and Hamilton to be in Louisville for Reds Caravan

HAMILTON, DUVALL AMONG GUESTS TO VISIT LOUISVILLE SLUGGER FIELD FOR REDS CARAVAN

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Billy Hamilton and Adam Duvall will headline the annual Reds Caravan stop at Louisville Slugger Field on Thursday, January 28 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jesse Winker, the Reds’ No. 2 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, rounds out the player lineup. The event is free and open to the public.

Other guests visiting Louisville Slugger Field will include Reds Senior Vice President and General Manager Dick Williams, former Bats broadcaster and current Reds broadcaster Jim Kelch, former Reds pitcher and current Reds broadcaster Jeff Brantley and the lovable Rosie Red.

Hamilton, 25, spent one year with the Bats in 2013 and stole 75 bases in 123 games, the second highest total in Louisville franchise history behind Vince Coleman’s 101 with the 1984 Louisville Redbirds. Hamilton stole 56 bases with the Reds in 2014 and 57 in 2015, his first two full seasons in the big leagues.

Duvall, 27, played in 25 games with the Bats in 2015 after being acquired from the Giants in the Mike Leake trade deadline deal. He hit 30 home runs Between Triple-A Sacramento and Louisville last season, tied for fifth-most in the minor leagues. He was called up to the Reds on August 31 and finished the season with the club. He homered in his first at-bat with both the Bats and Reds.

Winker, 22, was drafted by the Reds in the supplemental first round of the 2012 draft, 49th overall. He is a career .292 hitter in 371 minor league games and, in 2013, was named Reds Minor League Hitter of the Year. Winker hit .282 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI in 123 games at Double-A Pensacola in 2015.

The 2016 Reds Caravan provides fans with the opportunity to interact with current and former players, top minor leaguers, broadcasters and members of the Reds front office staff. At each stop, the group will field questions from fans and sign autographs while time allows. In all, the caravan will make 16 stops and cover 3,300 miles in three days over Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee.

Sales representatives from both the Cincinnati Reds and Louisville Bats will be on hand to discuss season tickets and group outings. The Reds Hall of Fame, the Reds Community Fund and Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network will attend selected stops. Also at each stop, the Reds will raffle two tickets to the Monday, April 4 Opening Day game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Bats will open their 2016 schedule with a seven-game road trip beginning April 7 before the home opener on Thursday, April 14 vs. Toledo at 7:05 p.m. The 2016 season will mark both the Bats 17th season at Louisville Slugger Field and their 17th season as the top affiliate of the Reds.
