LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - It's a unique learning opportunity for dozens of of students at one Jefferson County elementary school designed to help them find their inner strength and drive.

Fifty students at Whitney Young Elementary will spend after school time "discovering their superpowers." That inner superpower will teach students to make the world a better place, using the equation "my talent, equals, my heart, equals, my superpower."

"When we meet people that are very different from us is when we enhance our capacity to do more good in the world," said Mayor Greg Fischer (D-Louisville).

As part of the 16 week program, each student will put those powers into action during the Mayor's Give-A-Day Week in April.
