LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Drivers trying to get on Interstate 65 are finding themselves dealing with another change to the traffic pattern.

After being closed several months for reconstruction, the ramp from Liberty Street to Interstate 65 North reopened on February 20. With the reopening of the Liberty Street ramp, the entrance ramp to I-65 North from Muhammad Ali Blvd. was closed.

Mindy Peterson, spokeswoman for the Ohio River Bridges Project - Downtown Crossing, said the Muhammad Ali entrance ramp will be closed approximately three months while it is being rebuilt to provide new connections to the Abraham Lincoln Bridge.

Peterson also said that I-65 North drivers will gain another lane of traffic in the coming weeks when the right lane, just south of Muhammad Ali Blvd., will open. The lane, which is currently a mandatory exit to Muhammad Ali Blvd., will carry traffic to I-65 North, I-64 and I-71.
