Bond reduction denied for officer accused of child abuse

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Bond will not be reduced for a former correctional officer accused of abusing a 9-month-old child.    

Paul Raque’s attorney asked for his client's bond to be reduced from $50,000 full cash in court on Friday.

Raque, a former corrections officer at Roederer Correctional Complex, was taken into custody on Feb. 29 and admitted to throwing the infant to the ground.
The child was rushed to emergency surgery and was revived after going into cardiac arrest.

Raque is facing criminal abuse and assault charges. He is scheduled to appear back in court in April.
