LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Well known Louisville rapper Jalin Roze is reinventing himself.
Laying to rest that moniker at The Death of Roze, he will rise from the ashes as James Lindsey. And he's inviting everyone to come celebrate the transformation with him at an all-day installation featuring music and art.
Lindsey said the name change will help him stand out on the scene, he told Kyle Meredith on The Setlist. (It is his birth name, by the way.)
Even under his old pseudonym, he pushed the boundaries of Hip Hop.
Roze captured the attention of many every time he performed with his live band The Grand Nationals. And don't forget his collaboration with the Louisville Orchestra and that awesome surprise performance on the boat after his set at Forecastle in 2014.
There is, of course, new music accompanying this rebirth that I think we can all get excited about. Get a taste of it in the video above.
The Death of Roze is free and open to the public at the Adam Horton Gallery (1403 Story Ave.) on Saturday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
