LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - If you're an AT&T customer, posting your Derby pictures to social media should be easier this year.
The mobile giant announced Monday it will be upgrading its distributed antenna system at Churchill Downs in time for the 142nd Running of the Roses.
For the last five years, AT&T and Churchill Downs have worked to upgrade the mobility inside the race track on race day.
Churchill Downs Vice President of Racing Communications John Asher said, "The improvements in terms of technology, that part of the experience, your cellphones, your smartphones, your pads that are part of the experience that have really become essential part of the Derby experience. The growth in that has been dizzying and we can't wait to see what happens this year."
In 2015, a record crowd of more than 170,000 people attended the Kentucky Derby.
