LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky Derby champ Nyquist left Churchill Downs on Monday afternoon and about four hours later arrived at the Stakes Barn at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland.
He will train there in preparation for the May 21st Preakness Stakes.
"We've always been amazed with this horse. To this day we still can't figure him out," assistant trainer Jack Sisterson said. "Every day we wake up and he teaches us something new. We're just fortunate to be around him."
The son of Uncle Mo is a perfect 8-for-8 in his career. He is just the eighth unbeaten Kentucky Derby winner.
The only undefeated Triple Crown winner was Seattle Slew in 1977.
WAVE 3 News and NBC are the exclusive home of the Triple Crown. The Preakness Stakes broadcast airs from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.
