LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - UofL swimmer Kelsi Worrell is on the Olympic trail, and so are local media covering her.
As part of WAVE 3 News' Road To Rio coverage, our Connie Leonard is heading to Omaha, Neb., this weekend to cover the swim trials.
Worrell is scheduled to compete in preliminary rounds Sunday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and then again if she qualifies for Monday's final.
Worrell isn't the only UofL athlete competing this weekend. Thirty-four other Cards swimmers will be in the pool as well, including four graduates of Sacred Heart Academy and another from St. Xavier High School. Eight former and five current members of Louisville's Swim Club are among those competing, and several other UofL swimmers are hoping to represent home countries such as Russia and Brazil, among others.
Follow @ConnieLeonard on Twitter for real-time updates throughout the weekend, and look for her reports Sunday on WAVE 3 News at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
