LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A quarter of Americans volunteered last year, donating an average of 52 hours, with people 65 and older volunteering the most.
Muhammad Ali's wife, Lonnie, is encouraging us to celebrate her husband's legacy by donating 75 hours of service over the next year. We applaud her effort and encourage the Louisville region to lead the way in making it happen.
The number honors what would be Muhammad's 75th birthday in January.
The initiative is called "Ali in All of Us". The champ championed "service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."
Text "ALI" to 75475, upload your photo, build your profile, and begin volunteering. The hope is for at least one million people worldwide to participate.
Mentor a child, help an elderly neighbor, serve food to the needy.
Inspire others to join you in the effort!
