Missing kayakers found safe

NORTH VERNON, IN (WAVE) - Two kayakers who went missing on the Muscatatuck River Saturday night were found safe Sunday morning.

Just before 11:00 p.m. Sunday night, the Jennings County Sheriff's Office was notified that two kayakers of a four person kayaking group were still in the water.

At approximately 5:00 p.m. the group of kayakers launched into the river, just west of Butlerville, in Campbell Township.

The group says as the sun set two members of the group, Levi M. Easler, 25, and Audrey M. Adams (Easler), 25, were separated. The remaining two members got out of the river behind the Vernon Cemetery.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff's Office official Facebook page, the couple was found shortly before 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning.
