LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - It's been awhile since Dawne Gee pulled out her Pass the Cash sign.
It was a beautiful day - Dixie highway was busy and PRP was primed and ready to go. And so was David Williamson; he wanted to help a young man by the name of Brandon.
"He has no job," Williamson said. "He's trying to do grass."
Brandon is trying to do any odd job he can to help his family until he finds permanent employment.
David made a few calls to locate Brandon while Dawne met a few new friends. One person pitched in another $20.
"You still home?" David asked on the phone. "Stay there. I'm on my way to see you."
Brandon was at home waiting but he didn't know for what.
"You're the news lady," he said to Dawne when she arrived.
"Yeah, I'm the news lady," Dawne replied.
He knew who she was but had no idea why she was there. "I'm freaked out," he said. "What are you doing."
"I ran into these people on Dixie Highway and they had a thing that said 'Pass the Cash," David explained.
The look on Brandon's face when he received the money was priceless. "Are you serious? Are you serious?" he asked. "Thank you!"
The money could not have come at a better time. Brandon's car has no breaks. His Grandmother drives the car to work and Brandon needs the car to find work.
