LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man his facing charges after he was found to have a stolen gun that may have been involved in the shooting of a four-year-old girl.
Louisville Metro police arrested Hugh Tyreece Bell III, 21, on August 31 or receiving stolen property and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
An arrest warrant says the gun was found at Bell's home after a search warrant was served there. The weapon had been reported stolen in Shively on June 30.
The girl's shooting happened August 11 in the 1200 block of Brashear Drive inside a unit of the Parkway Place housing complex. The girl was driven to Kosair Children's Hospital by her parents. Her wound was minor.
An LMPD investigation determined that the girl was shot after finding a gun inside the apartment. The warrant does not say if the gun found during the search was the same one found and fired by the girl.
