Clarksville superintendent's contract not renewed

CLARKSVILLE, IN (WAVE) – Clarksville Community Schools will soon search for a new superintendent.

The Clarksville Community Board of School Trustees voted unanimously 5-0 on Tuesday not to renew Superintendent Kimberly Knott’s contract.

According to the district, Knott was hired as assistant superintendent in 2008, served as interim superintendent from May 2009 to June 2010 then was hired as superintendent in July 2010.

“We are appreciative of Dr. Knott’s time with us and her financial expertise,” Clarksville Community Board of School Trustees President Bill Wilson said in a press release. “The board feels that it is time to move in a different direction and wish all of the best to Dr. Knott as she continues with her career after the end of the school year.”

Knott will continue to serve until her contract expires on June 30, 2017.
