LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Changes continue to be made to the Louisville skyline. The latest change will come from a project that includes an extended-stay hotel in the NuLu neighborhood.
Soon 240 S. Hancock St. will be home to Home2 Suites. The hotel, which will be located on the northwest corner of Hancock and Jefferson Streets, will have 100 guest rooms catering to both NuLu as well as the Medical Center district.
A lot has changed over the past 20 years in Louisville, including NuLu. With the neighborhood growing in both popularity and population, the city is preparing to welcome even more visitors.
Home2 Suites by Hilton will have rooms for people visiting the hospitals in the area. Located right next to 310 @ NuLu apartments, the building will be five stories tall.
It touts features that make you feel at home, from dishwashers, home-like silverware and pull-out sofas. However, the building's most important feature is that it serves as a bridge between two communities.
"When you think about what happened at NuLu over the last decade, it's gone from a place that people drove through to get to work or get out of town to now one of the hottest neighborhoods in the entire country," Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said.
