LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A mother of three was found gunned down on a sidewalk in the Lyndon neighborhood. The body of Tiffany Thompson, 38, was discovered along the 7500 block of New LaGrange Road around 6 a.m. October 8. No arrests have been made and now Louisville Metro police are asking for the public's help.

Metro police believe Thompson was targeted. Now the question is by who and why.

"Who would want to do this to her because she didn’t have anybody that hated her at all," said Erica Webb, Thompson's friend.

Until there is an answer, Webb can't even begin to imagine who would want to hurt her longtime friend, Tiffany Thompson.

"Everyone wanted to be her, but she was just so humble at heart somehow, she just had no idea how beautiful she was," Webb said.

Police believe Thompson was walking on a sidewalk during the early morning hours when she was shot and killed.

"We don't believe that she was dumped there, we believe the incident occurred where she was found in the 7500 block area of New LaGrange Road," said Lt. Emily McKinley of LMPD Homicide.

Thompson didn't live in the Lyndon neighborhood, but police believe she was staying at home with friends just a few blocks down from where she was found.

"There was nothing that led any of us to believe that there were any problems or anything like that," Webb said.

Thompson was married, but friends say the couple was separated. Police say they have spoken to Thompson's husband and say this wasn't a domestic-related crime.

"I don't believe it was random," McKinley said. "As far as if she knew the killer – I can't say that."

Thompson's youngest child was less than a year old.

"I want her to be remembered as the fun loving spirited person that she was," Webb said. "I want her to be remembered for how amazing she was at dancing and how much she loved her children and how much she loved being a mother."

Friends, like Webb, say they can only hope for a quick arrest as they can't help but feel angry and saddened.

"I just hope that they find the person that decided to take her life, you can’t just take somebody’s life like that," Webb said.

A memorial fund has been set up for Thompson's three children. If you would you like to help, click here.
