Police warn of Duke Energy phone scam

SEYMOUR, IN (WAVE) - Seymour police are warning of a phone scam to watch out for.

On the department's Facebook page, investigators say they've received complaints that people are getting calls from someone claiming to be with Duke Energy. During the phone call, they request a cash payment be made to a Kokomo address.

If you call the phone number left in the message, it does appear to be from Duke Energy. However, police say this is a scam.
