LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two children were injured when a Jefferson County Public School bus was involved in an accident with a Shively Police Department cruiser.

The incident was reported in the 1000 block of Farnsley Road, at the intersection of Fern Lea Road, around 4:10 p.m. Thursday, according to MetroSafe.

JCPS spokeswoman Jennifer Brislin said two children were taken to Kosair Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The bus was transporting children from Gutermuth Elementary School.

Shively Police Department spokesman Josh Myers said the police officer was responding to a run at the time of the accident. The officer did suffer minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Drivers in the area should expect delays.
