LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Several members of the California neighborhood have started a petition against what they claim is police harassment.

The petition has more than 100 signatures claiming racial profiling and harassment by three specific officers.

The petition asks Mayor Greg Fischer and Louisville Metro Police Department Chief Steve Conrad to consider discipline against those officers.

“I see it with my own eyes how they're being harassed unnecessarily,” Sandra Wilson, who helped organize the protest, said. “I don't want this neighborhood to explode.”

The group behind the movement said tension is escalating and something needs to be done before someone gets hurt.

They are planning to take the petition to Chief Conrad next week.
