UofL students carjacked; suspects arrested

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two men involved in a carjacking near the University of Louisville campus have been arrested.

An arrest report says the men were involved originally spotted in a car stolen during an armed robbery. The victim was able to give police a description of the people involved.

Around 11:15 p.m., police say the men attempted to carjack two UofL students at the Clubhouse Apartments on Crittenden Drive. The victims in that robbery reported the crime to University of Louisville police. The car was stopped a short time later at 4th and Winkler by Louisville Metro police.

Police say the victims were brought to the scene and made a positive identification of one of the suspects, Seth Irkoze, 18, of Louisville. The victims said Irkoze was the person with the gun.

Irkoze was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on two counts of robbery, one count of wanton endangerment and one count of criminal mischief. He is scheduled to be arraigned October 15 at the LMDC courtroom.

The name of the second suspect and the charges they are facing were not immediately available.
