LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Plans to connect two trails along Beargrass Creek in Louisville were unveiled Monday evening.

More than a dozen people packed into the Clifton Center to hear from Metro Parks and Recreation officials about the project.

The plan would connect an existing trail that starts at Grinstead Drive and Lexington Road to another path along the creek that begins in Butchertown.

Bill Hollander, who represents Metro Council District 9, said, “Really the idea here is to connect that path with the path that starts in Butchertown so that you wouldn't have to get back on the city streets. You could walk, jog, run, bike all the way from Cherokee Park to the river.”

Metro Parks will hold another public meeting about the project in the next few months.
