BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - All northbound lanes of Interstate 65 in Bullitt County reopened about three hours after a four-vehicle crash shut it down Wednesday morning.
One person was taken to a hospital with injuries she suffered in the crash, which was reported at 7:03 a.m just north of exit 117.
A Bullitt County dispatcher said the wreck initially was reported as involving between five and eight vehicles.
Assistant Shepherdsville Fire Chief Terry Whittaker said the driver of an SUV entered northbound I-65 from the westbound Highway 44 ramp. For unknown reasons, she lost control of her vehicle, over-corrected, and shot across the driving lanes where the SUV was hit on the driver's side by a box truck, causing a chain reaction. She was rushed to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
