Strong-arm robbery at apartments near UofL prompts campus alert

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Students, faculty and staff are urged to remain alert after a strong-arm robbery Tuesday night at an apartment complex near the University of Louisville.

UofL police and Louisville Metro police are investigating the incident, which was reported about midnight Wednesday, but happened about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

A non-student reported being approached by a man who demanded her purse and hit her at The Arch apartments, located at 2501 S. 4th Street. The victim then brandished mace, which prompted her attacker to flee the scene toward Industry Road. Nothing was taken from the victim.

ULPD notified the campus community and urged members to call campus police at 502-852-6111 to report any suspicious activity on or near campus.
