LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The end is near - for the presidential election cycle that has become much too long and for the University of Louisville basketball scandal brought to light last year as the presidential race began to heat up.
Despite the doomsday rhetoric, both will conclude with relative quiet.
In January, a new president will take office and begin tackling an overflow of pressing problems, but the nation will survive.
A few months later, the NCAA will make a determination if additional penalties are warranted beyond the sanctions self-imposed by the University of Louisville. From the allegations delivered by the NCAA and the expected response by the school, those additional penalties will likely be minimal, and the school will survive.
The hard work will begin - healing a nation divided and disgusted, and a University tarnished but still thriving.
UofL will triumph through the adversity, and so will our nation.
