Man shot multiple times in arm in Algonquin neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man was transported to a hospital from the scene of a shooting in the Algonquin neighborhood Monday morning.

According to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell, officers responded to a report of the shooting in the 1600 block of Moore Court about 6:15 a.m. They found a man who had been shot multiple times in the arm. Mitchell said the victim apparently was not the intended target of the shooting.

The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mitchell did not say whether an incident a few minutes later and about four blocks away is related to the shooting.

Someone reported shots fired at 7th and Hill. The 911 caller made the report from a Marathon station at that location.

It is not believed that anyone was hit by gunfire in that incident.
