LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Will millennials really be the first generation to do worse than their parents?
That seems to be the conventional wisdom, since the metric being used is wealth.
Should that be the measurement for doing better?
One could argue that the most educated generation of folks will innovate, create and be catalysts for change that redefines being better. They will find entrepreneurial ways to dig out from student debt.
Philanthropy will still abound – but in a different form – like GoFundMe pages.
It is refreshing that millennials chiefly want to be good parents, raise happy children and give back to society. About like other generations before them. But they may not be as consumed by acquiring as they are by personal satisfaction. Physical and mental health, and community trust may become their economic indicators.
That isn't necessarily a bad thing!
