Police discover marijuana operation inside roofing business

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A routine police patrol turned into a major drug bust in Okolona.

Officers conducting the patrol obtained a search warrant after they said they detected a "strong smell of unburnt marijuana emanating from A Team Roofing" in the 4800 block of Pinewood Road on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrest report for 33-year-old Joseph Mattingly said there were more than 175 pot plants inside the business, as well as "a large quantity of marijuana packaged in bulk."

Officers also found other marijuana paraphernalia, as well as seven bottles of anabolic steroids, according to the arrest report.

It's not clear what Mattingly does for the roofing business. He faces two felonies and two misdemeanors and his bond was set at $2,500.
